1. Introduction
This page describes the terms and conditions to be applied to the User of THE TOKYO PASS (hereinafter referred as the “Service”) and the website https://www.mytokyopass.com (the “Website”)or application(the “App”) operated by TANSEISHA Co., Ltd. By using this Service, the User shall be deemed to agree to the terms described below. If you do not agree to these terms and conditions, you must not use this Service.
This Service is an electronic ticket that can be purchased through App or Website running on the User’s smart phone. Users can download the App from the Apple Store or Google Play Store.
2. Definition
The following terms used in this Term and Conditions have the meanings defined below.
(1) Service
A general term for all products, Website, App and other systems to be provided by this Service.
(2) Products
A general term for admission tickets and experience programs such as passes, tickets, and optional tickets sold by the Service.
For more information on the Products, please check “7.1 Types of Products Sold on the Website (Pass/Ticket)” in these Terms and Conditions.
(3) User
The person who uses or purchases the Service.
(4) PASS
During the available period of use, the User can make cashless payments or use the App to enter designated attractions and to get on Tokyo Metro and all Toei Subway lines during the period designated by Tokyo Metro Co., Ltd./Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation. This feature allows User to ride the subway as much as they like by using the “Tokyo Subway Ticket”. There is no limit to the number of rides during this period.
(5) Ticket
A product that User can purchase for attractions that are eligible for the “PASS.” The User can make cashless payments and enter each attraction once by using the App. The User is allowed to enter each purchased attraction once.
(6) ID
The User information required to purchase the Products sold by the Service, check the purchase details, and to use the App.
(7) Customer number
This is a User identification number issued at the time of the User’s registration for the Service.

5. Access to this Website
5.1 Access to this Website is temporarily permitted and the Company reserves the right to revoke or change access without prior notice. The Company shall not be responsible for any reason whatsoever, even if the Website is unavailable at any time or for a certain period of time.
5.2 Computers, smart phones, and other devices necessary to access this Service including software and communication lines and other telecommunications are arranged and maintained at the User’s expense and responsibility. The Company will not warrant that the Service is compatible with any equipment. The User is responsible to ensure that everyone whoever accesses the Website through the User’s internet is aware of and observe this Terms and Conditions. The User will use this Service at their own risk and must bear all responsibility for all acts performed in this Service and the result thereof.
5.3 The Company update the contents of this Website regularly, so the contents may change at any time. If necessary, the Company may suspend access to this Website or close it indefinitely. Any information on this Website may be out of date, but the Company will have no obligation to update such information. The provisions contained in this Terms and Conditions may change as a result of rules and notices published elsewhere on the Website.
5.4 The User may only use this Website for legitimate purposes. The User must not use this Website in a way that violates the local law, Japanese law, international law or regulations of the area where the User lives or for any illegal purpose.
6. Registration, management, deletion, etc. of User information
6.1 All IDs and passwords issued to the User will be used by the User personally for access. The User must not disclose it to third parties without the Company’s prior written consent. It is the User’s responsibility to keep their password and account information confidential and the User is responsible for all activities that occur when the User accesses the Website using their password. The Company must be notified immediately of any unauthorized use of the User’s password or account.
6.2 The User must strictly manage the e-mail address and other registered information at their own risk to prevent unfair use thereof. If the User discovers that their email address or other information is being used or stolen by a third party, the User must immediately notify the Company of such use and the User must follow the instructions given by the Company.
Any and all activities made by using the User’s email address or other information will be deemed to be the User’s activities.
6.3 The User can withdraw from this Service and stop using it at any time by informing the Company of their customer number and name via the office’s email address – service@mytokyopass.com. At the time of the withdrawal, all information that can identify a specific individual will be deleted.
6.4. If the User or their use of the Service falls under any of the following circumstances, the Company will temporarily suspend the User from using this Service or delete their information without giving prior notice.
- (1) If the Company deems that the User has violated these Terms and Conditions.
- (2) When all or part of the User’s registered information is found to be false or otherwise offensive to public order and morals or to a third party.
- (3) When payment is suspended or cannot be made.
- (4) If the User is part of an antisocial force (i.e. such as whether they constitute or belong to “boryokudan” crime syndicates, “boryokudan” affiliated members, “sokaiya” racketeer groups, groups engaging in criminal activities under the pretext of conducting antisocial campaigns or activities and crime groups specialized in intellectual crimes, etc.) or if the Company determines that the User has some interaction or involvement with antisocial forces, such as cooperating or being involved in the maintenance, operation or management of antisocial forces, etc. through funding, etc.
- (5) If the User has violated this Terms and Conditions in the past and this section applies.
- (6) In any other case where the Company finds anything inappropriate about a User’s use of the Service.
6.5 For any reason whatsoever, when the User information of this Service is deleted, the User will not be able to use some features of this Service and related Services that have already been linked with the ID. Even if the User accidentally withdraws, the User’s information cannot be restored, so if that User wants to use this Service again, they will need to re-register.
7. Purchase and possession of Products

7.2 Purchasing for Multiple People (PASS)
PASS | Users can purchase a PASS for up to 5 people per ID. However, if the User has a product that they have purchased earlier and have not finished using it, the User can purchase for the same number of PASSES remaining on the ID. |
7.3 Management of Products purchased for multiple people
PASS | If the User purchases Products for multiple people, the User can manage the Products for that number of people via the App. However, multiple purchases of the Products are made on the assumption that the accompanying person will use it at the same time. If the timing of entry is different, each User must purchase a Product The User cannot transfer the Products to the other ID after purchasing the Products for multiple people by using one ID. |
7.4 Age restrictions and fee structure (PASS)
PASS | There is no age limit for using this product; anyone can purchase and use it. There is no separate ticket type for children, etc. The price for the PASS is a flat rate. |
7.5 Payment method (PASS)
This Products can be purchased by using a credit card (VISA, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, DC, Discover) or PayPal. However, the User cannot pay by PayPal when they are located in Japan. Credit cards can be used even when a User is in Japan but only if their credit card was issued outside Japan.
Payment by the User may not be completed due to system error of the Service or their payment provider, for the User’s purchase of the Products, PayPal or credit card company, or due to excessive operation of the fraud prevention system, etc. In such cases, the User’s purchase will not be completed, and the User should contact the Company at service@mytokyopass.com for details. Depending on the content of the error, the User may contact PayPal or the respective credit card company.
8. Terms and Conditions of Use
8.1 Terms and Conditions of Use for PASS
PASS | User should purchase one of the Products including the attraction that the User wants to visit in advance for the number of people who will enter (up to 5 people)and access the Products by using the THE TOKYO PASS App before the expiration date. Some attractions may be closed on some days, so check of the attraction information in the App and the attraction’s official Website in advance. |
8.2 Terms and Conditions of Use for the App
To use the Service, User needs to download the TOKYO PASS App on their smartphone. Users can download the App from the Apple Store or Google Play Store. User shall be responsible for downloading the App, and the Service is not responsible for them. To use it, the User needs to register their ID (available email address) and register their password. The User who purchases on the Website can synchronize the purchased contents by entering their ID and password registered at the time of their purchase.
8.3 Who can use the products (PASS)
PASS | This Product is for overseas tourists to Japan from outside Japan. Also, the PASS/Optional ticket cannot be purchased using PayPal within Japan or by using credit cards issued in Japan. |
8.4 Expiration date for the attractions covered by the Service (PASS)
PASS | Users can start using the PASS within 180 days from the date of purchase. If the User enters any attraction within 180 days, they can use the PASS for the number of days the PASS specifies (2 days/3 days/5 days) from the date of that entry. By scanning the QR code installed at the attraction at the time of admission, use of the PASS is considered to have started. The start date of use is the first day, and the number of purchased days including the start date becomes the usable period. One day is not 24 hours after the start time of use. The time from when the User first scans the QR code until 23:59 (Japan time) on the same day is counted as the first day of use on their PASS. For example, if the User first scans a QR code on their PASS at 22:00 (Japan time) on the 19th of May, the 19th would count as the first day of their PASS usage. Users can check these usage dates in the App. See “8.7 Tokyo Subway Ticket” for the expiration date of the Tokyo Subway Ticket included with the PASS. |
8.5 How to enter (PASS)
PASS | After setting the User who will perform the entrance procedure with the App, scan the QR code at the reception of the attraction. When the User shows the screen that is displayed after scanning is successful to the staff, the entrance procedure will be performed by the attraction, so the User can enter accordingly. |
8.6 Multiple use (PASS )
PASS | If the User purchases the PASS for multiple people, the number of pre-registered purchasers will be displayed when entering the attraction. In case of changes in the number of entrants, amend the number. Regarding the start date of use, when the Users has scanned the QR code and completed the entrance procedure, the use of all PASSES for all displayed the number of Users will begin. |
8.7 Tokyo Subway Ticket (accompanied with PASS)
To obtain the Tokyo Subway Ticket, the User displays the QR code from App at a ticket vending machine located at a subway station (Toei Subway or Tokyo Metro). Unlike the PASS, which is valid the day the User starts using it, the available starting time of the Tokyo Subway Ticket begins when the User inserts the issued ticket into the automatic ticket gate. The validity period of the Subway Ticket will be 180 days same as the PASS. Once the User validates their ticket in the automatic ticket gate, it will be valid for 24/48/72 hours, during the 180-day validity period.
For other details regarding the use of the Tokyo Subway Ticket, check the Tokyo Subway Ticket website (https://www.tokyometro.jp/tst/jp/) specified by Tokyo Subway Co., Ltd. and the Tokyo Metropolitan Bureau of Transportation.
8.8 Re-entry (PASS)
PASS | Basically, re-entry to attractions is not allowed. However, some attractions may issue vouchers for re-entry. |
8.9 Transfer restrictions (PASS)
PASS | Only the User and accompanying persons can use it. It cannot be transferred or resold. |
8.10 Change of the Date (PASS)
In case of the Products specified the date of their visit on the PASS, the User cannot change the date after the purchase. If the User has purchased the wrong date, You can check how to cancel the purchase in section 9 “Cancellation”.
9. Cancellation
9.1 Cancellation Policy (PASS)
PASS | The User can only cancel the purchased Products within 30 days of their purchase from this Website and App if the purchased Product is unused. The PASS will remain unused unless the attraction’s QR code is scanned. The Tokyo Subway Ticket will remain unused unless the QR code is displayed on the App, even if the User has not issued a ticket. When the QR code is displayed in the App, the ticket will be deemed to be used. In case of cancellation, a refund will be made through the credit card company used for payment or PayPal. Users should check with their credit card company or PayPal for refund details. In addition, the Company cannot exchange or refund due to loss or theft. |
9.2 Cancellation method (PASS)
PASS | If the User wishes to cancel this Product, the User must inform the Company of their customer number and the purchased product name via email (service@mytokyopass.com) within 30 days of purchase. Also, the email containing this information must be sent from the same email address the User entered as their ID. If the email is sent from another email address, it will not be considered as cancellation because the Company cannot verify the User by their email address. |
10. Intellectual Property Rights
10.1 The copyright of the contents on this Website is owned by the Company, related organizations, or related persons of this Service. It is strictly forbidden to copy, reprint, lend, distribute, or sell the copyrighted works on this Website for commercial or non-profit purposes without permission.

11. Legal responsibility
11.1 The Company will make every effort to ensure the accuracy of the contents of this Service. However, regarding the contents of this Service and the information that the User obtains through this Service, the company will not guarantee their completeness, accuracy, certainty, usefulness, etc.
11.2 In the event that there is no reason attributable to the Company for delaying, changing, canceling or abolishing the provision of this service, mistakes in ticket issuing / delivery, or other User damages related to this Service, the Company will not take any responsibility. In addition, if it is impossible or difficult to provide the Service due to force majeure such as fire, power outage, terrorism, war, natural disaster, etc., or damage caused by non-arrival or delay of notification / contact, the Company will not be responsible. Use of the Service by minors will be performed with the consent and responsibility of the parent.
11.3 If any damage caused to the User is attributable to the Company, the Company’s liability will be the maximum amount of purchase price of the Products.
11.4 If the Company suffers any damage (including attorney’s fee) directly or indirectly from the User’s use of the Service (including the case where claims, etc. is made from a third party), the User will immediately compensate for this according to the Company’s request.
12. Prohibited acts
12.1 In using this Service, the User must not perform any of the following actions or any actions that may possibly occur as a result. If the Company determines that the acts by the User falls under any of the following, or if there is a possibility of that, the Company may delete all or part of the User’s registration information and usage history without notifying the User in advance:
- (1) Violates any law, court judgment, decision or order or binding administrative action
- (2) Violates public order and morals
- (3) Violates the copyrights, trademarks, patents and other intellectual property rights, honorary rights, privacy rights, or other legal or contractual rights or interests of the Company or a third party
- (4) Other acts that the Company deems inappropriate
12.2 Users may not abuse this Website by intentionally introducing viruses, Trojan horses, worms, logic bombs, and other malicious or technically harmful materials. Users may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to this Website, the server on which this Website is stored, or any server, computer, or database connected to this Website. The Company will not be responsible for loss, damage, or cost burden of Users due to the change of Service lineup.
14.2 The opening hours of attractions will change from time to time, so it is recommended that Users check the attraction information in the App and the attraction’s official website before visiting. Similarly, the prices of the Products described on the Website or App are subject to change at any time, without Users being informed of said changes in advance.

“14.3 The PASS lists available attractions and affiliated services of those attractions, and the Company strives to add further participating attractions and to find additional affiliated services. Regarding the quality and safety of other services, their use is under the responsibility of the attraction’s management and the operator of that affiliated service, and the Company will not be liable. The same applies to attractions and experiences without admission tickets that are introduced within such service.
14.4 Users must follow the rules of the relevant attraction when visiting. User should contact the attraction for details. The Company will not be liable for the rules of the attraction concerned.
14.5. Response to unexpected situations
If many attractions are closed for an extended period of time, such as due to the COVID-19 precautions, availability and cancellation conditions may change. Users must check the information on this Website from time to time.
15. General clause
15.1 Notifications and communications from the Company to Users regarding this Service will be made by posting at appropriate places within the Webite operated by the Company or by other methods that the Company finds appropriate.
15.2 Notifications and communications from Users regarding this Service will be made by sending the enquiry form displayed on Company’s Website or by the method instructed by the Company. When notified or contacted by the User, the Company will be able to confirm the User’s identity from the information provided. Regarding the method of responding to notifications and communications from Users, the Company will respond each time by the method that the Company thinks is optimal, and the User cannot specify the answer method.
15.3 Even if any clause or part of this Terms and Conditions of Use is determined to be invalid according to the Consumer Contract Law or other laws and regulations, the rest of the Terms and Conditions of Use or some of them will be determined to be invalid. The remaining part of the provisions will remain valid, and the invalidated clause or a part thereof will be amended to the extent necessary to make it valid. 16. Changes to the Purchase Terms and Conditions:
